I have a confession. Every Christmas I vow that the following year I’ll become one of those ridiculously organised people who begin their Christmas gift shopping in September and then smugly tell you every November that they’re all done and just need wrapping paper. My reality however usually involves praying that some gifts get delivered on time and a manic last minute dash to central London. I’m not alone though. The 23rd and 24th of December are up there with some of the UK’s busiest shopping days, and it can be stressful.

So here are some gift ideas for the ladies in your life.

The Makeup Junkie

urban-decay-naked-palette-3

Most makeup lovers have been looking forward to getting their hands on the latest palette from Urban Decay, the famous Naked 3. Naked and Naked 2 were both some of the industry’s top selling palettes. The new 3 had 12 brand new shades to create many looks, a double ended shadow/blending brush and a sample primer. Get yours for £37 here from Debenhams.

Nars palette

One of my favourite palettes this season is ‘At First Site Eye & Cheek Palette’ by Nars. Most limited edition sets from Nars tend to sell out quickly so you’ll have to be quick with this one. It has their famous Laguna Bronzer, Deep Throat blusher (Nars love their filthy names) and 4 eye shades all for £45. The last oder date for Christmas delivery directly from Nars has already passed but Space NK are still selling it too.

Nail Art Fans

CIATE

The Mini Mani Month Calendar by Ciate is packaged like an advent calendar, but instead of chocolates you get nail polishes, glitter pots, sequins and some nail tools. The recipient of this set will love customising their nails with fun salon quality products. The set costs £42 and is available exclusively at Space NK.

Rio nail pens

Rio Nail Art Pens for those that really want to try some nail designs at home or for professionals. You  get 8 pens, rhinestone jewels, glitter, nail art brush, chart of designs and a step by step DVD. All this for £22 from CurrentBody.com

barry m

Alternatively you could create your own sets by buying a selection of polishes and putting them in a pretty little gift bag. Barry M have a new Matte collection and the Sequin Effects selection is very festive. These will cost you £3.99 each and the Art Pens will cost £4.99 each, all available in store or online from Boots and Superdrug.

Skincare Beauty Queens

It can be a bit daunting buying skincare as you usually won’t know the person’s skin type or sensitivity, so it’s best to stick to mini starter packs where possible.

sarah chapman

This Sarah Chapman Daily Essential Collection costs £49 from Space NK and is suitable for all skin types. It comes with mini versions of their cleanser, age repair serum, Dynamic Defence moisturiser, the famous Overnight facial night oil, and a cleansing mitt. The bag it comes in can be used as a makeup bag.

dr lewinns gift

Dr Lewinns Mini Fresh Skin Christmas Gift Set is a reasonable £15 from Debenhams. It comes with a mini foaming cleanser, face polish and moisturiser.

A lot of sets will however need you to to know at the very least whether its for someone with dry, normal, combination or oily skin. I used to work in a beauty store and I always thought it was really clever when husbands would come in with pictures of their wives’ products and just buy replacements, so there’s an option.

My favourite skincare product isn’t actually a cleanser or a cream. Those that have read my Clarisonic Mia 2 review will know that it’s a product that I’ve loved using.  The team over at CurrentBody.com have kindly offered all our readers 10% off the entire Clarisonic range! This also includes a 90 day money back guarantee in case you don’t love yours, and the possibility of a payment plan to spread the cost. They already offer it for £120 which is cheaper than most other sites (£125 and £130). With your 10% MIW discount and free delivery, it’s not cheap, but that’s the cheapest I’ve managed to find it for. Just enter the code MIW10 at the checkout.

clarisonic coloured mia's

Wherever you decide to shop, if they have stores but you’ve seen what you want online then you could always call ahead to reserve your items, then just turn up and collect and pay. This saves you lots of time looking around, and if they’ve sold out you’ll know to go elsewhere. If you can’t get to your chosen stores and need to order online then do it quick! Below are a few of the sites I’ve mentioned and when the last day you can order for a Christmas delivery are:

www.boots.com Order by 7pm Saturday 21st December to revive Monday 23rd with next day delivery option. Order by 2pm to collect next day after 2pm (not including Sundays) or shop in store.

www.currentbody.com Friday 20th December 2pm for free next day delivery (normally £7.95)

www.debenhams.com Friday 20th December 2pm £4.99. When I called they did say I could order Monday morning for Tuesday delivery, but even I wouldn’t risk that. Option to shop in store.

www.uk.spacenk.com Friday 20th December 12pm Express delivery £7 or shop in store

www.superdrug.co.uk Free delivery over £10 Friday 20th December by 2pm. Next day delivery by Sunday 22nd December 2pm £5.50.

Good luck, happy shopping and Merry Christmas!
