You may think it is a bit early to be sorting out your summer wardrobe, with the weather still as unpredictable as ever, but for some of you, getting ready to sort out your holiday fashion essentials, the planning cannot come quick enough.  If you are anything like me, you will be starting to get the summer wardrobe boxes down from the loft to swap over your winter gear. This I find is a good way to spring clean your wardrobe, and see what you already have for those summer days, and what items you need to add for this season. There are a few items which are essential for your summer holiday, for example, Sunglasses, a big sun hat, kimono, playsuit, bikini and sandals, and these are just to name but a few. Check out my essential guide to summer fashion.

It’s no wonder kimonos are so popular for summer this year, they are loose, comfortable and effortlessly stylish. You can choose to wear them with casual gear like jeans and dress them up, or you can simply throw over your bikini on holiday, for instant cover up and still keep cool. Below are some of some of my top finds, along with pictures of how the celebs are rocking them.

Bare those legs!

Along with the Kimono, we should be paying lots of attention to those cute shorts and skirts out there at the moment girls.

Polly’s Pick

Love these trousers! These would look great for an evening out on holiday, teamed with some tan wedges and a white vest.  Accessorise them with a statement necklace or bangles, and you are good to go girls.

Now a holiday wouldn’t be a holiday without your favourite bikini or swimsuit, we all take many with us, so we can parade a variety of colours and styles around the pool. However, for me, I am always looking for the right bikini which (like my jeans blog) has to fit my body shape and flatter me.  My body shape is petite on top, but I have curvy hips, so I like to find bikinis which suit an hour glass shape. Here are some options which I think are femme and flattering.

My holiday essentials

Here are a few of my bargains I bought last week for my holiday this year, the sun hat was only £4 from Primark!! Get yours quick girls.

Time to get buff

The daunting time has now come to get those pale pins in tip top shape, and ready for exposure. That means get the exfoliator at the ready and pick your favourite fake tan to become a bronzed goddess. When it comes to sunless tanning, my favourite on the market is St Tropez bronzing mousse. This always gives a very even, natural looking tan, especially as I have fair skin, I have trouble finding one that doesn’t go too dark or streaky. This one never lets me down. Remember to exfoliate first, moisturise any dry areas in preparation (elbows, knees, ankles) Then apply with a mitt to avoid looking like your palms have been tangoed.

Summer makeup bag must haves

I always give my makeup bag a spring clean in preparation for summer, as the season’s change, so should your makeup. You can get away with much more coverage in winter, however, in summer, a lighter base is best, think natural and sunkissed.

Here are some of my low maintenance, top picks to keep you glowing this summer.

Foundation-Try Max Factor Facefinity 3 in 1, which has primer, concealer and foundation all in one. It’s a good fast track to beauty on the go. It’s coverage is light and blends very well, it will be a good foundation for those who don’t like to feel a thicker coverage on the face. At £11.99 it’s a good buy on a budget girls.

Highlighter-Nars Orgasm Illuminator. This is by far my favourite highlighter for the face. It looks a little dark in the tube, but it actually goes on incredibly sheer and gives that healthy, natural glow. You can apply this to the skin without foundation, or under/over it. Whichever you prefer, I mix a little in with my foundation to get my skin dewy, then touch up with a blending blush, just a small amount along the upper cheekbones. A little bit pricey, but you do get a 30ml tube, which is about the same size as your average size foundation, so in my opinion worth the extra pennies.

Blush- Benefit Fine One One Cream Blush. This is a gorgeous coral colour, made up of three different shades which blend together well to give a radiant glow. The pink, watermelon and coral shades to compliment each other and the great thing about this product is it is multi-use. You can apply this to the lips as well.

Hope you have found my little summer guide helpful ladies. Until the next time, much love and happy holidays x
