Lesson’s learned

Sending a big virtual hug to you all…… After a brief hello and I am back, I am sorry to say I disappeared again into the fog of motherhood. Combined with a few personal upheavals, this year certainly has been one of the most enjoyable, saddest, hardest and fulfilling years I have had. I have loved every second of it and it has been one learning curve after another So….I wanted to start again and say HELLOOOO, I am STILL surviving motherhood 2nd time around and its been a crazy old year! Actually, I shouldn’t really say surviving, I should say enjoying – loving – embracing – happily living. All those worries I had, all those doubts about myself and… Read More →

Baby Bottles and BPA

Since 2011 I am sure there are so many new bottles around and innovative feeding systems! I was recommended to a certain brand as I was planning on a mix of bottle and breast(and to be fair Tommee Tippee worked great for us) but I know there are huge choices out there! I went on recommendation but I know many parents who have gone through many brands to find the right one I know that new (ish) to the market are the Mothercare Innosence Bottle Feeding Range. Lots of advice on the website and it looks like lots of research has been done into these bottles! Im really impressed and they seem to have already been shorlisted for lots of… Read More →

2nd time around- HELP

So hubby and I have decided to go ahead and plan for baby number 2. Both being from a family of 3, we have always wanted at least 2 kiddies and a sibling for Finley. Because Finley was not planned in anyway, actually #planning’ to ‘try’ for a baby stressed me out a bit! I consulted some friends who are pretty much prego experts (from measuring your basal body temperature (I know I didn’t know either) to ovulation kits and best time to ‘try’. I got a bit caught up in it and did some essential reading. With the new job, it pretty much went out the window as I wanted to give 100% to my new role so forgot… Read More →

Wake up Mummy!

ZZZZZZZZZZZ I am tired. The tiredness where you cannot be bothered to eat properly, make a cup of tea, go out the house or tidy  up. My eyes sting, my joints ache and I think of my bed every 10 seconds. Yes, welcome to parenthood my mum says! All very different in her day with being a full time mum. Not that I take away from any stay at home mum or dad – whether working full time or not. Managing many roles and bringing up little one is one big lesson in multitasking fatigue. I have never felt so tired in my whole life…in fact, ever since the day I became a mum, I think I pretty much gave… Read More →

A Bad Rep?

There has been a lot of debate on social media and online about Bounty Reps in Hospital Mumsnet revealed that the survey of more than 1,000 Mumsnetters (who gave birth after May 2012), reveals that: Over half (56%) of new mothers felt a Bounty rep invaded their privacy 60% were not specifically told their personal details would be passed on to other companies 82% don’t think hospitals should allow sales reps access to wards at all     Mumsnetters have reported being hassled by over-zealous Bounty salespeople From my personal experience, I was given 1 day to rest and then I saw the rep come around. Me being me, high as a kite on anti pre eclampsia drugs and pain… Read More →

Happy Feet

Happy Friday mummies! I do get a bit excited about the summer and I LOVE buying summer clothes for Fin…(more to follow on that – LOADS of great stuff out there and will share some tips for sunshine fun) BUT as an avid Clarks fan for baby’s first shoes and comfortable summer sandals for boys and girls, I had to share this video. SOOO CUTE! http://www.clarks.co.uk/babies   It really is useful getting your little one’s feet measured for their 1st shoes (their little feet can be a little curled still). Getting a good shoe helps flatten them out and support their new mobility. I always find the staff really helpful and a great start for their new life upright! L… Read More →

Mums Rule

Shared to be by a dear friend, I love this and wanted to pass on To the mum who’s breastfeeding: Way to go! It really is an amazing gift to give your baby, for any amount of time that you can manage! You’re a good mum. To the mum who’s formula feeding: Isn’t science amazing? To think there was a time when a baby with a mother who couldn’t produce enough would suffer, but now? Better living through chemistry! You’re a good mum. To the cloth diapering mum: Fluffy bums are the cutest, and so friendly on the bank account. You’re a good mum. To the disposable diapering mum: Damn those things hold a lot, and it’s excellent to not… Read More →

Being Mum (tips and surviving)

I am 100% confident that whoever you are, whilst you are/were pregnant and also when the baby arrives – you get given tons of advice. People who don’t even know you bestow endless pearls of wisdom…for example, I was given some advice at the local post office when 6 months gone along the lines of ‘good luck love, that baby looks HUGE! You will be in AGONY – get an epidural! hahahaha’                       Mmmmmmm ok. Lets assume I wasn’t huge (I was – see above) and also lets assume I do not want an epidural (I didn’t). It did get me thinking – how funny that being pregnant or with child gives… Read More →
