Romance on hold – Parents at Work!

The dynamic has changed with the arrival of E and me and husband are so exhausted the mere thought of a date night it sometimes makes us even sleepier. ‘Want the kids overnight mum? Sure!’ Then our plans for a wild night, to go out and paint the town red slowly fizzle out and we end up at the cinema scoffing sugary treats to stay awake and watch a film like ‘normal’ couples. Ahhhh  those 1st dates we used to have – remember them?   We secretly hope we have enough energy to get home and….well you know. We now retire to bed as soon as the house looks vaguely tidy (I can’t see this changing for another 15… Read More →

Lesson’s learned

Sending a big virtual hug to you all…… After a brief hello and I am back, I am sorry to say I disappeared again into the fog of motherhood. Combined with a few personal upheavals, this year certainly has been one of the most enjoyable, saddest, hardest and fulfilling years I have had. Hell dear dear MIW’S MIMS (Thats Miss Independent Woman’s Miss Independent Mum’s!) Again we never found out the sex of baby 2 and what an absolutely amazing surprise it was to finally meet her. Having un aided birth this time was just amazing. Having watched her come out with my own eyes, I was back at my home town hospital… Read More →

Easter Fun

Ahhh I love Easter. Especially now as I can get away (a little) by asking for chocolate 🙂 The last few years I have not had an Easter Egg trying to shift weight so this year I have decided to ask for one 🙂 I quite fancy these stunning eggs from Fortnum and Mason – have a look here !                     I have never really entertained Easter with fin but this year we have decided to really celebrate the occasion. He is already asking questions about flowers, baby lambs and bunnies (I think the marketing campaigns are working haha!) and obviously many of you may be celebrating Easter in a religious sense… Read More →

Pregnant Celebs…..help or hinder?

A lovely gallery of images popped up on my Facebook news feed and had to share with my mummy readers ASAP I always find reading about celebrity mums and their fashion a little bittersweet. On the plus side, I get a bit of inspiration but on the flip side, I always feel less glamours, chubby and frumpy. Pregnancy hormones could be a factor in this but after I posted a photo of the effortlessly cool Gwen Stefani rocking leather leggings, high heels and bright red lippy – I vowed to make more of an effort with my looks on this 2nd baby.                           As a result….um, I have… Read More →
